(more…)

A Traditional North Thailand Khantoke Dinner
In Thailand, many people still eat with their fingers and this has nothing to do with social strata. It depends, rather, on the place, the occasion and the meal that is being served. A Thai hostess will follow a set etiquette when offering a meal that will be eaten with the fingers, and those eating will be polite and delicate as they partake of the meal.
Traditional Thai meals are rarely one plate experiences, so the Western concept of having meat, two veggies, and gravy all on one plate is alien to Thai dining. Likewise, the use of an array of cutlery seems to be overkill in Thai minds (most Thais settle for a fork and spoon when not using their fingers). Unless one is invited to a Thai home, the closest most visitors get to dining a la Lanna (northern Thai) is at a Kantoke dinner, so this is something you might like to try

Learn Thai For Your Thai Vacation
thailand vacations There are a lot of phrases that you could learn before a vacation, but there are some that will be more helpful than others. No matter what you will be doing on your trip, certain things will be necessary. Being able to ask where restrooms and places to eat are will help you everyday. Finding restaurants online is of course a possibility, but asking in Thai and being directed by a native gives you the experience of being part of the Thai culture.
As you plan your trip and decide what places you will be visiting, figure out what phrases and questions may be helpful for you to learn. Being able to ask where certain places are, and understanding enough Thai to follow the directions given is a very useful preparation, as well as learning enough Thai to be able to read signs in the area that point to certain places. The people of Thailand will be happy to help. You could even learn enough Thai to ask for suggestions of things to do.
Finally, it would be fun to learn how to say common phrases such as asking how someone is doing, greeting people, and asking about the weather. Practice your Thai on the hotel manager and on your waiter at the restaurant. When you go into stores, practice it on the people working in them. Study your Thai and get ready for a great vacation.

Hua Hin Golf Holidays Packages 2010
Hua Hin Golf Golf Package Holiday Vacation in Hua Hin Thailand. Hua Hin Golf Tours, Golf Holidays, and Vacation Packages. Hua Hin Thailand Golf Course with Resort Hotel Accommodations. Stay in Hua Hin Thailand and Golf in Hua Hin Thailand. One of Thailand’s oldest resorts, Hua Hin was discovered in the early 1920s by King Rama VII and soon became a firm favorite of the Royal family and Thailand’s upper-class. The tranquil fishing village provided an ideal getaway from the balmy metropolis of Bangkok with a perfect 5 mile long beach and fantastic local seafood. Many of Bangkok’s influential elite built their own beachfront summer homes along the curving sandy bay, contributing to the resorts’ unique identity.
While Hua Hin still remains a royal and high society favorite, this traditional Thai resort has developed over recent years, combining the attractions of a modern holiday destination with local charm. Unlike some of Thailand’s other resorts, Hua Hin has avoided the hectic development based largely on tourist dollars and the town still has a flourishing fishing port and maintains an old world charm. It’s a place to relax, take a stroll, eat great seafood and chill out. Hua Hin Golf
