# How to Make Your Own Soccer Shirt

Soccer Shirt Purchase a shirt painting kit from your local convenience store. These usually include paints that adhere to material shirts are made of, along with brushes to apply them with. Some of these kits will actually include pens that are like magic markers, but have paint in them to make designing your shirts easier.

Gather all the players on your soccer team together for a shirt making party. Give each player a plain shirt and their own shirt painting kit. Make sure you have plenty of newspaper spread out under the area they will be working in.

Instruct each player on your team to paint their jersey number on the back of their shirt. Allow each child to choose their own number; just make sure you don’t have two players choosing the same number.

Instruct each child to paint their first name, last name, or both on the back of their shirt above their jersey number. This will allow them to have the back of their shirt resemble a professional soccer jersey.

Instruct each player on your team to paint the team name on the front of their jersey. You can either have them paint it straight across the front or diagonally starting at the shoulder. It is best if you ask all the players on your team to do it the same way though, so let the team decide on that part of the design.

Allow each player to add a small design either to the front or back of their soccer shirt to personalize it. Tell them that it shouldn’t be very large, and should be in the corner of the shirt. Suggest that they draw something that represents something they like or enjoy doing to personalize their shirt.

Soccer Shirt The first soccer shirt in the 19th Century were thick cotton shirts, in the 20th Century new clothing fabrics allowed for kits to be made in lighter synthetic fibres. In the 1950′s uniforms worn by players in Europe and South America became more lightweight, v-necks replaced collars on shirt. The new fabrics meant designs could become increasingly complex and colorful and include features such as sponsor logos or team names on the chest of the jersey.

The game started in England in the 1860s but it wasn’t until the 1870s when standard team uniforms started to emerge. Since a ruling in 1921 the away side has been required to changed their Argentina soccer shirt in the event of a color clash. Numbers started to appear on shirt in the 1920s but it wasn’t until the 1933 English FA Cup Final that they were featured in a major fixture, interestingly the Everton players wore numbers 1 through 11, whilst Manchester City players wore 12 through 22.
