Webtrends is seeking a technical writer to join our education services team and help us create the best, most helpful content for any technology anywhere. Creativity and experience are key, as we will look to you for recommendations and direction within an evolving department structure. Daily work will consist of both authoring and editing content in multiple environments, but with an eye toward single-sourcing and re-use. Engineers are your subject-matter experts, marketers your audience, and technology your best friend. If you like, even thrive, on using brand-new technology, this may be a good fit — provided you’re also fine with change and can manage multiple writing projects at a time.

Create documentation and aid in information design for our family of web analytics and digital marketing software products. Our guides, documents, and videos make all the difference for our users, accelerating their skills and enabling their creativity, and you’ll help make these materials work.
Maintain and update released documentation, including working with a variety of document management and publishing tools.
Help manage and coordinate the localization of documentation and interface elements.
Work with the team to build a repository of content that can be re-used in multiple formats (like HTML, PDF, and more).
Offer recommendations for improvement in processes, procedures, and content.
Interaction:
We operate in a team-oriented environment. You’ll need to build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with product development and client-facing teams. We work with a number of audiences, both internal and external. Your skills in audience analysis are, therefore, essential, both for collecting and creating content. Our technology is constantly evolving. Your ability to actively keep up with changes is key to our materials remaining current.
Supervision:
This is an individual contributor position — you will have your own projects, objectives, and milestones. We also work collaboratively, however, so you will contribute to the department’s goals and objectives as well.
