Junior Software Engineer for Java based web applications
We are seeking a junior software engineer to join our team. Responsibilities revolve around enhancing and maintaining our enterprise web applications. We are a small development team so we are looking for someone versatile who can participate in all stages of a project. For this we’re not just looking for a programmer just to code, but an engineer who knows how to analyze problems, research solutions and who can carefully implement them into a large existing codebase. We are looking for someone who understands that making changes carefully and writing maintainable code that can be understood by others are some of a software engineer’s primary goals.
Requirements
BS in Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
Ability to work effectively with Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL
Object oriented analysis and design skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with Servlets, Apache Struts, Hibernate, Velocity, jQuery all a plus
One or more years of experience working with java based web applications is preferred. However recent graduates who can demonstrate expertise (a portfolio, work on an open source project, co-op or internship work, etc.) will also be considered.
