As head of DJ’s fashion, Colette Garnsey worked with former chief Mark McInnes to bring to the store high-end fashion labels like Manolo Blahnik, Fendi and Dolce and Gabanna while also championing Australian designers.
An industry insider said yesterday that together the duo “was one of the most powerful forces in fashion” in Australia.
Ms Garnsey was one of the first appointments Mr McInnes made when he became chief executive in February 2003 — and her resignation comes within months of his forced departure.
