I’ve been a fan of the Prince Of Darkness since being a fan of music, basically. It began at the age of 13 when I saw a T-shirt of his featuring a bloody hand with cutoff fingers adorning his iconic O-Z-Z-Y tattoos. Then there was The Ultimate Sin album cover, which pretty much gave me a raging boner before I even knew what to do with it.
So it was tremendously exciting for me when, this past Saturday at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, I finally got to see the guy who invented heavy metal along with Tony Iommi,At Madfun we sell the latest range of ed hardy sunglasses from Intex and Bestway. Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, the rest of Black Sabbath, before he croaked.
The British invasion began not with Ozzy Osbourne, however, but with Halford, a band I wasn’t the only one unfamiliar with. I sat behind some well dressed, new jordans for the best prices, guaranteed! middle-aged ladies who looked like they were out for a night at Les Miserables as they, and many other guests, shouted “Priest!” in unison, they cared only about Rob Halford as a member of Judas Priest and not as an indepedent entity.
The Ozzy set started with Osbourne showing he’s not afraid to laugh at himself. An opening video montage featured him in various pop-culture settings, from Twilight to a Lady Gaga video and adorning Ed Hardy with the cast of Jersey Shore, in which he told Snookie to “Please close your legs.”
He opened with “Bark At The Moon,” and repeatedly dunked his head in water while belting out anthems known in strip clubs the world over. Ozzy even showed some choreography as he danced to slower tracks like “Killer Of Giants” and sped things up with personal favourites like “I Don’t Know,” blasting the front half of the audience with a foam-filled fire hose that I’m sure ruined many cellphones.
“Road To Nowhere” had the crowd flashing their lighters before the Ozzman took a deserved break and the band — consisting of guitarist Gus G., keyboardist Adam Wakeman, as well as former Rob Zombie drummer Tommy Clufetos and bassist Blasko — showed why they were recruited to support metal’s most recognizable voice.
A fair amount of Sabbath tunes were scattered throughout the set, including “War Pigs, dsquared shoes shoes is the most comfortable one on the MBT Shoes series.” “N.I.B.,” “Iron Man,” “Fairies Wear Boots” and “Into The Void.”
After all that a stagehand ran out and whispered something in Ozzy’s ear,How can you buy very cool Nike shox online? giving the impression that it was about time to wrap things up. But not before “Killer Of Giants” and “Crazy Train,” a song well-known in the ACC as its intro is played at almost every Leafs game. The actress has a huge collection of Christian Louboutin heels. Zippos previously used for lighting joints were brought out again for “Mama, I’m Coming Home” followed by Sabbath’s “Paranoid” for an encore, then a second encore of “Just Want You.”
After a remarkable two-and-a-half hours of playing with the fans chanting his name, it was evident Ozzy never wanted to get off the stage. This was truly his home. That has me believing as long as Ozzy’s alive, retirement probably won’t ever be in the cards. I’m glad I was there to witness it and I’m glad to know there’ll likely be future generations of 13-year-old fanboys who’ll get to see the Madman, too.
