Pioneer VSX-519

According to a press release on Newswise.com, researchers at the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute have received a $300,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. The grant is to be used to adapt a technology created by a company called Livescribe so that it is useful to students who are blind. The technology will be developed into a “Smartpen” and will also have a paper component that will work with touch. This will enable students who are blind to “see” graphs and charts. The researchers are Andy Van Schaack, who is a lecturer in Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development and Joshua Miele, who is with the Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute. Joshua Miele is blind .

Van Schaack is the also the senior science adviser for Livescribe. He states that courses such as science, technology, engineering and math (also known as STEM courses), are all ones that are taught with the emphasis being on charts, graphs, and diagrams. Van Schaack states that this fact creates a “significant disadvantage” to students who are blind. According to Van Schaack, their goal is to provide blind students with a technology to remedy this issue with a product that is “low-cost, portable and easy to use”.

Van Schaack says, “…a visually impaired psychology student could learn neuroanatomy by exploring a diagram of the brain, with each lobe, gyros and sulcus’s name spoken as the smartpen touches it”.

The technology will work by translating written images through a camera located in the pen. It will read the dots on the paper. According to the press release, this pen and the paper component will be much more cost effective than previous technology. The technology will incorporate a Sewell Raised Line Drawing Kit. The Sewell Raised Line Drawing Kit is a technology that creates Braille type drawings on mylar when the student writes on the film.

This new product is similar to the technology in a laptop, according to Van Schaack. He states that the difference is that this product will get its data from writing instead of from the keyboard and mouse. One of the applications will be that students can take handwritten notes in outline form and then use the audio portion of the pen to fill in the blanks as they are reviewing their notes.

The product will be in stores in early 2008 and is expected to be less than $200. The paper component, which will be the Livescribe interactive notebooks will also be available from college bookstores and will be priced comparably to other college notebooks.

Schaack’s hope is that this product will open up ” a new world of possibilities” for the visually impaired.

Casio EX-G1 Camera

October 20th, 2010

Casio EX-FH20.A Robin In The Hazel Screen.January 29th 2010. by Blue Melanistic

Kodak Easy Share

The Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 is a 6 megapixel Digital camera, that looks as if has been on a diet since birth. This thing is slim! It is seriously only 1 1/2 cm thick. It can fit in your back pocket, however the manual does not recommend this, seeing how you can sit on it, or have it fall out of your pocket, and break. Not good! Not cool! So store it in a safe place.

Although it is skinny, and about the same size as a credit card, it by no means feels cheap or flimsy. It’s a nice hard sturdy little camera.

I would however advise you to buy a padded pouch or case for it for protection against scratches or falling, seeing how this camera does not come with one.

I’M GOING BIG SCREEN!

There is a 2.5 inch LCD screen, it is huge compared to most cameras available these days, and It is also very crisp and clear when viewing photos on it. The LCD screen is positioned to the right side of the camera on the back, on the left side of the screen are your search function buttons.

“CHHHAAARRRGGGGEEEE”

The EXILIM also came with a rechargable lithium battery that is located at the bottom of the camera. This is the same slot that the SD memory card is inserted. You simply click out the battery by pressing it; It will pop up. (I find this difficult, seeing how they don’t give you a whole lot of finger room in there) You now can insert it into the charger; it clicks right in. It only takes it about an hour to fully recharge. It’s really no big deal seeing how the battery will last hours upon hours. Mine was able to last through an entire 1gb memory card worth of pictures, and some before draining.

*The Exilim It does not come with an SD card, so you are going to want to purchase at least a 1gb card or more. The 1gb card will hold 300 or more photos.

The camera does have a built in memory, but it will only hold 10 photos at once. So unless 10 photos at a time is cool, I’d buy an SD card.
You can purchase them from $20-40 depending on what card you get. You can place this card right in the butt of the camera with an easy click in, click out release chamber.

FAST!

Once the camera is turned on, it is ready to take pictures in approximately 1.4 seconds! Once you press the shutter, the photo is taken almost instantly, with approximately 0.002 second release time lag. Basically, you won’t miss a single moment. You want that perfect shot of when your baby smiles, or took his or her first steps. You’re not going to miss it.

LIGHTS, CAMERA ACTION!

To view photos that you have previously taken you simply hit the ‘PLAY’ button that is located directly next to the LCD screen. You then hit the arrow keys to locate previous photos. You also are given the option to delete photos you do not wish to keep. You simply use the arrow keys to get to the ‘DELETE’ button, and click it. It will ask you if you are sure.

SHARE THEM, OR PHOTO SHOP THEM!

The Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 Digital Camera comes with a CD that you can use to view and upload your photos on to your computer through an available USB hub (the camera will come with the wires you will need to do this). Its very quick and easy to install the CD into the computer.

You can also simply stick the SD card into your computer if you have the available slot, or a multimedia computer that allows for this type of action. If you do have this available slot, it is the fastest way to upload your photo onto the computer. From here, you simply save the ones you want. You can now send them through email, or fix them up in any available photo restoration program you are using on your computer.

BAM, POW, ZOOM!

The EXILIM also comes equipt with a 3x optical zoom lens. I was able to take a really scary shot of a regular daddy long leggers, lightning bugs, ladybugs, etc… the shots came out incredibly, and the quality was equal to a shot you’d find in a magazine. It could of also made an awesome DVD cover if your into making independent films.

FUN FEATURES

This digital camera comes loads with tons of features for taking photos. I will kindly take my time and go through each individual one, and how well they worked for me.

1. You’ve got the option to use ‘BEST SHOT’. This is a setting the camera will use if you do not choose any other settings. It programs itself to the best setting depending on your location. The quality of these photos are always superb.

2. PORTRAIT- This is used for face shots mostly, or shots of simple household objects. This setting in my opinion takes the same quality shot as ‘best shot’ does.

3. SCENERY- This setting would be used for just that. The quality is crisp and clear. You really get wonderful shots if you are photographing mountains, deserts, beaches…etc.

4. CANDLE LIGHT PORTRAITS- This setting is used in situations such as birthdays. The photo comes out clear and beautiful. You don’t get that squiggle mark line in candles like other cameras do. However it tends to make the scene all around it yellowish. It for me is just okay.

5. PORTRAIT WITH SCENERY- Same as 2 and 3. Just together. This setting is nothing special, and also sort of not needed. You can simply use best shot for the same effect.

6. CHILDREN- Why this setting was added is beyond me. It is another feature that one does not have to use. You can use BEST SHOT for this as well. It comes out exactly the same.

7. SPORTS- This setting is used for moving shots. You get no blur if you use this setting, ex. while someone is kicking a ball, or jumping. It really is a nice added feature and works great.

8. PARTY- This setting makes photos have an yellow tint like the candle light shot. I’m not impressed with it at all.

9. PETS- Like the ‘children’ setting. It is the same as best shot. Nothing special here, and also not bad though. Takes a good clear crisp photo every time.

10. FLOWER- Same as best shot, pet, and children settings. Nothing new, nothing bad.

11. NATURAL GREEN- This setting is used for when you happen to be in a lush green forest or jungle. Don’t ask. It makes green things seem more green than they are. They do look more crisp though.

13. AUTUMN LEAVES- This is a nice feature if you want to take a shot of your kids playing in leaves. It is a crisp nice shot. However I find it not needed.

14. SOFT FLOWING WATER- River rafting anyone? It takes a good shot, and freeze frames flowing water. It does look neat, however I don’t see why it was needed. You could also use best shot and get the same results.

15. SPLASHING WATER- Like the flowing water, it freeze frames splashing water. I find this to be neat, however also very dangerous for your camera to be in this situation.

16. SUNDOWN- Say you want to get a shot of a sunset.. well now is your chance. It takes a really nice photo, and does not leave an squiggles or blurry spots on shots.

17. NIGHT SCENE- It’s used just for that. It’s also very effective if you happen to be in Las Vegas at night. Takes awesome shots of buildings without the squiggle worms. This setting won’t clash a scene and make it look like day. Results are nice.

18. BACKLIGHT- This setting is used for just this situation. I am not a ‘photographer’ and at times find this setting hard to use. I never seem to have the right backlight, and the photos either come out too dark, or too light. I guess this setting is great for those with some time in photography school under their belts.

19. NIGHT SCENE PORTRAIT- This setting sort of works the same as NIGHT SCENE. I don’t really see a difference in the quality of photos.

20. FIREWORKS- This setting is awesome for firework shots. They come out perfect every time. The firework is not distorted, no squiggle lines. I’m really surprised at how great this setting works.

21. FOOD- Works the same as the best shot setting.

22. TEXT- I was also surprised at how well the camera worked under this setting. Why it is needed is beyond me though; but it does work well. It will take a perfect shot of any text. Say an assignment, book or small sign. Does the job to the tee.

23. COLLECTION- Say you want to get a photo of a bunch of dolls, toys, or anything really. This would be the setting for you. I find it ridiculous though. You again, can use best shot for such things.

24. FOR EBAY- Now this is one feature I like. This camera will take a shot in ebay format, so you don’t have to play around with it afterwards to get it to work on ebay. Very very neat feature for ebay sellers.

25. ANTI-SHAKE- Now I find this setting hard to use. I guess you need a tri-pod for it. If you shake the photo comes out blurry. It’s strange and I still haven’t figured out how to use it properly.

26. HIGH SENSITIVITY- This setting makes your photos red. It’s used for high sensitive locations. You can get a nice shot of a fireplace with this setting however.

27. MONOCHROME- Black and white! This is really one of my favorites. It seriously makes boring photos look mysterious. I love this feature. Takes really nice quality photographs.

28. RETRO- This setting takes a yellowish photo. It’s supposed to make your shots look retro. However to me they just come out looking dull.

29. TWILIGHT- This setting is best used for city scape. They do come out looking nice and clear. But you can get the same sort of result using NIGHT SCENE.

30. OLD PHOTO- This is another favorite. It is used to take photos, of old photos. It works like a charm, and is great for older photos that you just want to restore on the PC, or to save for safe keeping.

31. BUSINESS CARD OR DOCUMENT- Same as text really.

32. WHITE BOARD- Also takes the same shot as text does. Nothing spectacular.

33. VOICE RECORDING- Yes, you heard it. You have the option to record your own voice. Leave yourself a reminder, or record a professor. Works great. Will allow you to record as long as your SD card has enough space. The larger the SD card, the more time you have.

34. MOVIE- Another awesome feature from this camera is the ability to take home movies. Again depending on the size of your SD card will determine how much video time you get. Really neat feature. Love it! Also very neat for (www.myspace.com) freaks who love video blogging.

To get into these 34 different setting simply push the “BS” button on the right bottom side of the camera next to the LCD screen.

AND THERE IS MORE:

Out of all 34 settings most of them, for me, were not really needed. However the settings that did provide different quality photos were awesome. Most of them however really showed no difference in the quality of my photos.

Other features include ‘rapid flash’. This allows you to take 3 consecutive photos in only 1 second. SWEET! Soft flash prevents over exposure of your photo, and revive shot will make your old photographs look like new ones.

EXPOSURE WARNING:

An exposure warning will pop up on your screen if you are in too light of a setting, or too dark. You can than adjust it by choosing the appropriate shot setting.

OVERALL

I have been completely satisfied with my Exilim camera. I spent only $199 at Walmart, and it truly is money well spent. This camera always provides me with fast and high quality photos, and I love how small and convenient it is.

YOU KNOW YOU WANT ONE!

So go and get it!

The Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 is a sleek and sexy camera that I would recommend to anyone who wants to take high quality photos without the hassle of a bunch of photography equipment. It is user friendly and it is easy to use. Beginners will be taking fabulous shots in seconds.

Breaking News – Katie Holmes Wears Clothes! and My New Motto

October 19th, 2010

I made new Photos in the last months – please tell me if you think they are good:

Sexy's Back by *Damselfly*

Tell me if you like them – i love to discuss the photos with you! And support my: Philips 32 PFL 7404 H/12

I always laugh a little bit at those commercials that say you can lose pounds in just days from taking a certain prescribed pill. They may very well work, but as soon as we go back to eating “normal” food (as we all need to survive) the inches come back unannounced, destroying our goal once more. Diet pills may work for some, but I know that I personally don’t want to be dependent on something that actually changes my body structure and metabolism. Losing weight isn’t the horrible, nasty thing that people make it out to be, even though it may seem that way at times.

Dieting Takes Time – But It’s Well Worth It

What is one of the most important rules to remember for those longing to get rid of extra weight? Never give yourself an unrealistic deadline, like losing ten pounds in a week. Disappointment comes, and guess how most of us cope with being disappointed? By vowing to never try another diet again. I’m lucky; I finally woke up one day and decided “this is it. I want to make a realistic diet plan to get thin and have more confidence, and I’m not going to put it off anymore.”

What Will Be Your Deciding Factor?

It may take something shocking to jump-start you on a diet, like looking at an old photo and saying “Is this me? Yikes!” That can actually be beneficial because the first step is to realize it’s imperative to get rid of that extra weight. There will come a time you will actually *like* pictures of yourself; I know that when I look at photos of myself from last year versus about three years ago, I’m immensely pleased at how far I’ve come. Granted, I still have a little more to lose, but it’s coming off gradually.

Don’t Give Up Chocolate For Good!

The number one thing I’d like to tell dieters is to not give up things you love. It saddens me to hear people say they can never eat the things they crave again. What? Never eat a slice of cake for the rest of your life? Never have a bowl of ice cream? Of course no one is saying that people should forsake a diet to go on an eating binge, but it’s cruel and unrealistic to forbid yourself to eat junk food for all eternity.

A piece of cake now and then (like at a wedding, a birthday party, etc.) is *not* going to hurt. Just make sure to watch the calorie count for the rest of the day. For instance, if you’ve already had a five-course meal and a couple extra desserts, that cake is a mistake. For those who have been snacking on crackers and who plan to have soup and a sandwich for dinner, it’s all right to indulge a little. One of the fastest ways to get off a diet is to force yourself to eat loathesome foods just because they’re “healthy.” If I would have sat there and choked down yogurt and bean sprouts, it would have been “sayonara, diet” quicker than I could reach the shortbread cookies.

Snacks Are the Enemy Unless You’re Sensible

Eat what you like, just less of it. Think you can’t sit down with a box of crackers and not eat the whole box in one sitting? It *is* possible to accomplish the goal of eating less junk food. I have eaten snacks all my life, especially when I was bored; excitement came with the prospect of reaching for something sweet. Over time, this habit has thankfully fallen to the wayside. I’m happy with three meals a day now and have very little desire to snack. There is certainly no desire to gain back the weight I worked so hard to lose. Everyone can get used to eating right, if it’s done gradually.

I allow myself to get something special on every grocery store trip, but only one thing. Something small – yes, I actually stand there and compare calories on candy bars. This way I don’t feel deprived (getting chocolate once a week) but also don’t feel like it’s messing up or ruining the diet.

Why Is A Cheat Day Advocated? Isn’t it Just Messing Up?

While studying all kinds of diets, you’ll probably hear others advocating “cheat days” where they consume a greater amount of calories than on other days so the body won’t get used to a diet calorie count and refuse to lose any more weight. If your calorie count is, say, 1300 a day, you consume this amount of calories every day and stay at the same weight, your body may be retaining fat to keep from starving. With a “cheat day,” dieters show the body it’s not being starved. This can actually help with weight loss. Of course no one should use these “cheat days” as an excuse to eat more every day; just once in awhile.

Exercise Comes in Different Shapes of Forms

Exercise; ah, the dreaded word that brings ice to our very bones! Some of us just aren’t exercise-minded. I enjoy dancing occasionally, but am usually so sore afterwards that it’s hard to get the stamina to exercise again the next day. Choose a personal pace; never push until everything is sore and it seems impossible to move. Either make a routine – do the same exercises for the same amount of time every day or every other day – or make up a unique routine, as I do.

Take each diet day individually. Feel like doing push-ups on Monday, dancing on Tuesday, and climbing stairs on Wednesday? That’s fine too. Whatever works is fine. Calories are being burned either way. Diets don’t have to be boring or painful if they are approached in the right way. It does help some people to be structured, but it’s not required for all of us.

Don’t Be Afraid to Take A Break

When illness comes, don’t feel bad if skipping a few days crosses your mind. It’s not the Army, after all! Stretch those arms or lift those knees from bed! As long as you’re moving, calories are being burned; however each individual dieter chooses to do it is fine. Just don’t get into the habit of saying “I’ll put that off until tomorrow” and then forgetting when tomorrow comes. Be consistent. Diets can’t be accomplished overnight; some of us will lose that excess weight quickly, and others will take a year. Try not to make the goal so soon that it’s impossible to reach it in time.

Exercise Can Be *Fun*? It’s True

In my quest to burn calories, I’m currently looking forward to buying a new treadmill. This is a great way to get exercise; it can be tough, but it can be done at many different speeds. A treadmill workout is like taking a long, energizing walk or jog. I make it fun by choosing songs that match the beat of my walk; whenever I dance, I sing along (which is probably much to the neighbors’ chagrin) and this makes it more fun and less of a “chore.” You might want to consider ways to make exercise fun.

Great Gifts for the New Dad

October 18th, 2010

I made some shots in the last months – please tell me when you like them:

Hunde in Shanghai / dogs in shanghai by frank schacht / photojournal-worldwide-exklusiv

Tell me if you like them – i love to discuss the photos with you! And support my: EMU 0404 USB 2.0

After 2 years I came to the realization that I needed a new phone. My old phone still worked but it was bulky by today’s standards and lacked some of the new functions like ease of adding pictures and an ever needed camera. My contract was with Verizon and with a simple trip to the circuit city where they have a booth, I was told my contract was up. By resigning a 2-year contract I was able to benefit from all the deals and discounts available. Verizon understands there is a heavy competition between all the wireless companies and through a $50 rebate I was able to get a brand new Verizon vx8300 for free. However with little coaxing from the salesman I also bought a memory 512mb trans flash card for $35 and a leather case. This card is well worth it if you plan on saving pictures from your camera phone or adding ringtones and your own wallpapers. The trans card is very tiny though so you have to be careful not to drop it when you insert it into the side of the phone. If you drop the card it will be almost as hard to find as a lost contact lens. On the plus side depending on the card you get, it will come with an adapter to make it an SD card that you can write too or download from if you have the proper reader for your computer. On a side note you cannont upload your own ringtones to the phone via the memory card. You will have buy a usb connector made specificaly for your phone and use a free program called bitpim.

The case is not worth the packaging it came in though and I would suggest not buying it. The salesman put my phone in the case and it fit and looked fine but when I got home I realized a fatal flaw. The vx8300 is a flip phone so when you flip up the top to take a picture the strap on the back of the case soon becomes positioned to where it blocks 85% of the camera lens and blurs the photo where it is not blocking. So needless to say I promptly returned the poorly designed case and used the money to buy a DVD with money to spare.

The phone is very sleek looking in a silver color and has two lcd screens one on the front and one when you flip the phone. In the phone settings they are referred to as Main and Front. Front being the lcd screen on the top of the phone when closed and main being the screen when you flip the phone open. The vx8300 gives you the option to have a different image for each screen and too use your own pix off your trans flash card as wallpaper. This phone is user friendly but only after you have looked at a diagram of the phone in the book that comes along with it. The camera button for instance is on the right side of the phone. The camera is 1.3 megapixels and takes a pretty good picture at a default size of 640×480 but can be changed in your settings to 1280×960. Music on the phone sounds very good with stereo speakers and there is also a place to hook up headphones so you can use it as an mp3 player. Now I say mp3 player but the phone defaults to playing only wma files so you will need to have your music in that format to save yourself grief and trouble. You can enable the phone to read the mp3 format but when I did it still not read the mp3s that I uploaded to the phone. Window media audio files seem to work great and there is not a discernable quality loss listening through the phone speakers. Other features you may find useful or interesting are video playback and bluetooth.

Overall for the price and its features I would recommend this phone to anyone from age 10 to 100. The phone is cool looking, not too big or too small and has all the features a normal person could want.

A Review and 20 Percent Discount for the ASUS N61JQ-X1 Through Amazon.Com

October 18th, 2010

asus-eee-5colors-1.jpg by hsufehmi

Aoc 2436 VWA

We bought the Asus Netbook because after doing some research online we discovered that both notebooks and netbooks by Asus had far longer life expectancies than any other brand, and much longer than for the big name brands such as Dell and HP. And since Asus only made one netbook, the choice was pretty simple.

When ordering, the only real options were color and case design and whether we wanted a cover for it. We did; and we picked pink and the seashell design.

We were very excited when our little pink netbook arrived, as we are with any new gadget we buy. We liked it right away. It was every bit as tiny as we expected it would be, with a little ten inch screen, and a small keyboard with small keys on it. But it looked good, and it was (and is) a very cute little machine.

We plugged it in and let it juice up the battery overnight as the little card that came with it suggested, then turned it on and watched it go. It did some initializing and then there was the familiar Windows screen. And then, it popped up a question about the wireless signal it had found (we have a wireless router hooked up to our cable modem) and hooked itself up to the Internet, and just like that we were up and running and ready to go.

We’ve had our little netbook for several months now and have nothing but good things to say about it. We compose articles, e-mail and letters on it, use it to do research on the ‘net, keep up with home finances via spreadsheets and even watch movies on it via Netflix and Hulu.

It does everything as advertised and we think, even better than we expected, Of course, because of the small keyboard and screen we don’t compose anything that is very long or that makes a lot of use of graphics, because the processor is slower than our regular computers, but that was something we expected, it is a netbook after all, not a full sized computer.

One of the cool features we like is the ability to “pinch” the screen using the finger pad to zoom in and out of web pages and anything else we happen to be looking at. It makes text a lot easier to read, and also allows for taking in whole pages at a time if we so chose.

We also love the fact that the battery truly does last for something like eight hours; enough to last for however long we might be away. Which means, if someone wanted to, they could slip this little baby in their purse, carry it around all day, sponging off free wireless at the hip café’s downtown, chat via Skype with friends around the country for free, and have plenty of juice left over for browsing the web in front of the television in the front room during the commercials while the news is on.

What we normally use this netbook for in real life however, is not so exciting. Because of its lightweight, the netbook can be rested on the chest or belly while reclining in bed; thus it can be used as a diversion during commercials or for ordering things we see advertised on the telly; or for watching movies on Netflex. By having the netbook that close, it’s possible for two people to lie side by side and watch a movie together, and like the netbook itself, it’s rather cute.

All in all, the Eee netbook is great fun, works like a charm and anyone that buys one is likely to very quickly fall prey to its charms.

Review of Fujitsu MH380 Pinetrail Netbook

October 18th, 2010

FUJITSU U820 / U2010 TOKIDOKI IPHONE by DJACID

Edler klassischer shop

One of the hottest products right now is the netbook. It’s not just a smaller notebook/laptop. Computer manufacturers in cooperation with Intel had to re-engineer the mini-notebook, or it just wouldn’t work right. It had to be lightweight, but also have fine processing power and a sharp display. It couldn’t suffer from clunky performance and excessive battery drain.

Most netbooks run Windows XP Home, because they would choke on Windows Vista. Also, since XP is not used in desktops anymore, manufacturers could get a better deal for the OS. Netbooks generally use Intel’s Atom processor. The Atom processor was developed specifically for targeted performance and low power, while keeping full Intel Core microarchitecture, instruction-set compatibility. For more information, visit www.intel.com/technology/atom.

We’ve reviewed a number of Fujitsu notebooks over the years, and have been impressed with their performance and reliability. Now Fujitsu America offers its M2010 mini-notebook, its first netbook for North America. With an environmentally friendly, 10.1-inch mercury-free backlit display, the Fujitsu M2010 netbook is a well-executed product. Mobile professionals, students and others will enjoy its fine design and quality features.

The Fujitsu M2010 mini-notebook offers up to 2 GB of memory (1GB is standard), three USB ports rather than the usual two, two stereo speakers, a digital mic, Bluetooth and a snappy 50-second start-up. With its 6-cell, 10.8V Lithium ion battery, (with approximately 5 hours battery life), it still weighs only 2.83 pounds. The 10.1-inch display is ENERGY STAR compliant. While there’s no DVD drive, you get a 160 GB, 5400 rpm hard drive.

Transferring files (programs, photos, videos, etc.) to the M2010 is no problem. You can pop a flash drive into a USB port, or simply plug into the memory card slot on the right side. It accepts Memory Stick/Secure Digital/Memory Stick Pro/MultiMedia Card (MS/SD/MSPro/MMC). We tested the WiFi and it works fine. The Atheros wireless LAN and wireless LAN antenna does its job.

The built-in camera is located just above the display in the center. It lets you take both still pictures and capture video. There’s a digital microphone along with two-watt-per-channel stereo speakers. Standard Bluetooth technology provides for wireless personal area network communication with other Bluetooth-compatible devices. The netbook allows plugging in an external microphone and headphones. And you can output to an external monitor if you want.

The camera comes with ArcSoft WebCam Companion. This allows various settings for photos and video clips. Photos resolution and image format (JPG or BMP) can be selected. For video, you can choose up to 640×480 (VGA) quality, which is similar to a typical cell phone camera. You save videos I WMV or MPG format. You can also do minimal editing of photos and videos in the program.

The Fujitsu M2010 Mini-Notebook comes with Microsoft Works 9.0, and Microsoft Office Home and Student 60-day Trial. You get a one-year international limited warranty. Fujitsu has been making mobile PCs for more than 20 years. And they don’t outsource manufacturing for most of their models. Fujitsu adheres to strict quality-standards, assisted by their labs, business units and their own certified test centers.

The M2010 is currently priced at $449. Check with the Fujitsu Website (http://store.shopfujitsu.com) or select retailers/e-tailers.

BenQ-Siemens A53: Dont Judge the Book by Its Cover

October 17th, 2010

Two Siemens Combinos by hoszi

Nikon AF-S Zoom-NIKKOR 17-35 mm 1:2,8D IF-ED

I officially like phones from BenQ-Siemens. I mean if you’ve raed my previous reviews on this brand, you would agree with me too! Enough talk. Let’s get on with the review of another phone from BenQ-Siemens that I found and used recently.

The phone I am going to write a review on is the BenQ-Siemens E81, or E81 for simplicity’s sake. The E81 measures 100 x 47 x 17 mm. A little thicker than the other BenQ-Siemens phones, but still thinner than your average phone nevertheless. I for one, won’t complain about the phone’s size. The E81 weighs 90 grams, or around that at least. No complaints about that either! I love how light the phone is. Now for the design. All I have to say is that no phone has ever looked so good in black before! This is easily one of the sleekest, most elegant looking phone ever! I’m giving full marks for design. It comes with a price though: the body attracts fingerprints like a magnet. You’ve gotta wipe it often.

The screen on the E81 is a 1.8″ TFT screen. That would be roughly 176 x 220 pixels. The color capability of this screen is 256 thousand colors. The screen seems to be identical to one of BenQ-Siemens older phones that I used before. I had no complaints about that screen. I have nonoe about this one too. The screen is perfect.

GPRS Class 10 and 3G. That is the Internet capability of this phone. I still wonder why BenQ-Siemens phones lack EDGE. Its annoying. The lack of EDGE would usually spoil an otherwise perfect phone. Oh well. At least the E81 is very stable when browsing web pages. The phone only crashed once when I tried to open a page with over a hundred images. Otherwise, no such thing occurred. You can use either Bluetooth or USB connections for data transfer. USB speeds are faster than Bluetooth speeds.

This is one of those phones that have 3G but no videocall. There isn’t any secondary videocall camera on this phone. It does have a 1.3 MP camera with flash. The flash makes a big difference when taking pictures pictures turn out really clear and bright. In addition to that, the E81 is capable of playing MP3, AAC and XMF files. Not really sure what XMF is (because I don’t have any such files) so I cant comment on that. The audio quality is however quite good. I liked it. The phone comes with 16MBs of internal memory and a MicroSD card slot. Card usage does not affect the phone’s performance.

This phone is merely alright, due to the lack of videocall. Not a bad buy though, considering the cheap price.

Measurements:100 x 47 x 17 mm

Weight: 90 g

Screen: 176 x 220 pixels, 1.8 inches TFT, 256 thousand colors

Memory: 16 MB + Micro SD

Internet: GPRS Class 10 + 3G

Overall Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Processor and Hard Drive:

This Dell Studio Hybrid Desktop will provide you with the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. The hard drive for this Dell Studio Hybrid Desktop will provide you with 250GB worth of storage. I was disappointed to learn about the hard drive space within this desktop, because of all of the other advanced features, one would figure that the hard drive would offer massive storage space. Advanced computer users with a plethora of media files may find that this hard drive does not provide enough storage. The hard drive features a read/write speed of 5400RPM, which is not terribly slow, but if you have large media files, you may find that accessing the file is slower than desirable.

While this isn’t the most advanced graphics card on the market, for the average computer user, it will support all of your graphic needs. You will be able to access the Internet through the 10/100/1000Base Ethernet interface. This will provide you instant access to high-speed internet speeds, which is great for downloading media files.
