When people go boating it gives them hours and hours of enjoyment that is hard to be topped by anything else. Before you set off on the water there are some safety measures that need to first be taken to be certain that every one of your guests are boating safely.
You must be sure that you have all of the safety equipment that is recommended onboard of your boat. The Coast Guard has some guidelines which need to be followed to be sure that your boating trip goes smoothly even if anything should happen. One of the main safety items that you need is life jackets. Everybody that is on board of your boat has to have a life jacket that is the proper size for them. You need to make sure of the age requirements that are present for children needing life jackets at all times when on a boat.
You will also need to have a fire extinguisher on your boat. Any Type B or Type C fire exyinguisher is good to have on your boat. Fire extinguishers in this type will put out fires that are caused by grease, electrical, gas, and oil. HAving a first aid kit on your boat is a complete must for emergencies. You might never need to use it but it is a good idea to have one. You might also feel it is a good idea to have some kind of distress signal. This is in case you are in any type of distress you can send up the signal and they will give alert to rescue boats.
