Cures for Headaches, the Natural Way

If you are plagued with chronic headaches and do not wish to over medicate yourself with dose after dose of aspirin, ibuprofen or any other pain reducing medication, you may want to consider turning to a more natural approach to stop your pain.  Natural cures for headaches are easy to find and can often times work better and faster than store bought or doctor prescribed medications.

When you feel the beginning of a headache coming on and you are in a place that allows this, go and find yourself a dark, quiet room away from distractions and noise.  Once in this room, close your eyes and take several deep cleansing breaths, staying aware of your breathing and heartbeat.  Drop and relax your shoulders and lay your head back in a restful position.  Try to stay in this relaxed place for 20 minutes or so.  When the proper time has elapsed you will be surprised to find that your headache is gone.  Many times your eyes and ears need a short break from any stimulation and finding a quiet room where you can relax for a small amount of time is just the ticket to curing your headache without the aid of aspirin.

Many headaches are caused from tense muscles.  Properly stretching can help you to avoid unnecessary headaches.  Also, staying away from certain situations can also help alleviate headaches.  Places such as smoke-filled bars, or loud clubs will keep your brain from being over-stimulated and will therefore allow you to avoid a headache.  Headaches can also happen when your body is dehydrated.  Keeping your body full of thirst quenching water will give your head a break.  There are many cures for headaches that can be done the natural way without the help of any over the counter pain relievers.
